foodpanda announces social impact initiatives for Ramadan 2026
As the holy month of Ramadan brings a season of reflection, the streets of Pakistan are filled with the relentless spirit of the delivery riders who bridge the gap between hunger and home. These individuals are the heartbeat of the community, often breaking their own fasts while ensuring others can enjoy theirs. In recognition of this tireless dedication, foodpanda, Pakistan’s leading online delivery platform, has launched a series of initiatives focused entirely on the physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing of its delivery partners during this holy month.
For Ramadan, the company has already activated several programs that are currently ongoing to support the riders’ daily experience. To ensure no rider has to worry about where to break their fast, the daily Iftar Dastarkhwan is currently providing nutritious meals to over 2,000 riders across the country, every single evening. In addition to these shared meals, a nationwide night cricket tournament is already underway. These matches, with 350 riders participating across KLI, continue to provide a vital outlet for recreation, allowing riders to take a break from daily routine and bond with their peers after the rush of the day.
Looking ahead to the final weeks of Ramadan and the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, foodpanda is preparing to launch its most significant rewards yet. In a deeply personal gesture of gratitude, the company will soon be sponsoring Umrah packages for 10 top-performing riders, with a special focus on regional representation including individuals from Faisalabad and Multan. As the holy month concludes, 1,000 premium Eid Gift Boxes will be distributed to top performers in major hubs and Tier 2 cities. This spirit of celebration will be further amplified by corporate employees, who are preparing a massive drive to personally distribute more than 5,000 boxes of mithai to riders nationwide as a token of appreciation.
Muntaqa Peracha, CEO of foodpanda Pakistan, commented, “Ramadan is a time for reflection and community, and the 2026 roadmap aims to make a measurable difference in the lives of fellow Pakistanis by focusing on the human element of the business. By combining logistical strength with social responsibility, we are proud to carry forward our mission to empower local communities and support the heroes of the delivery economy.”
Beyond internal celebrations, foodpanda is collaborating with various NGOs to facilitate the distribution of essential rashan bags to those in need within the wider community. Every pandamart location in the country is also currently operating as a hydration station, ensuring riders have a sanctuary during the busy sunset hours.
These initiatives reflect a dedicated investment in the delivery community, prioritising the wellbeing and spiritual needs of delivery riders. By creating a culture of appreciation throughout the holy month, the company demonstrates its long term commitment to those who power its ecosystem. These efforts ensure that every rider is supported by a community that truly values their hard work and dedication.
